Calvin Jones, age five.

I started thinking about the Dad’s centenary in late August. I checked in with some of my siblings: should we try to do something to commemorate? It just wasn’t feasible to plan a group celebration, with people spread wide and far and everyone burdened by complicated lives.

I didn’t hit on the idea of this blog until two weeks ago. Since then, I’ve been scrambling: digging through hundreds of boxes, looking through thousands and thousands of photographs. Purchased and installed a blog app that took me forever to figure out, so inscrutable the help system was.

So…consider this a work in progress. There is so much more to tell about my extraordinary Dad. And Mom’s centenary is just around the corner (November 22nd). She was extraordinary too.
